In an amazing scene, three Japanese professional soccer players decided to reenact the 1990 arcade classic Smash TV.

If you aren't familiar with Smash TV, then you are either really young or you really suck. In either case, Smash TV is the follow up to Robotron 2084. It is a dual stick arcade game that involves your character firing non-stop at a sea of enemies.

The game is inspired by the movie The Running Man and the story revolves around your character competing on a futuristic game show where contestants fight to the death.

There is a hilarious announcer and different prizes and bundles of cash are offered throughout the game.

Of course there are special weapons and shields available at random intervals as well.

Why don't I just show you?

Apparently, some people are still so into Smash TV that they wanted to see it reenacted for real.

Leave it to Japan and their very unique gameshows to provide the perfect opportunity to see a live version of Smash TV.*

Here it is:

Oh my god!

Those are kids!

They are super screwed when one of the guys in blue runs over one of the packages that makes every enemy explode!

I need to look away.

Tell me when it's over.

*This is no gameshow. Just an innocent exhibition. I am a jackass.
