Coaches of Teams in the College Football Invitational Tournament Final Shock the World! (Jim Shorts Reports)

in #funny6 years ago

In just a few minutes, the final game of the four team College Football Invitational Tournament will commence.

But the most shocking event has already taken place.

In an incredibly surprising move, head coaches Nick Saban and Kirby Smart have staged a coup in an attempt to make their compensation for tonight's game even more valuable.

I guess the two figured out just how much money is being made off of tonight's game. ESPN paid $7.3 billion for a multi-year deal to air the Invitational Tournament. As a result, the network is fetching over $1 million per 30 second ad. That is a lot of money.

For all of their hard work and risk to their bodies and minds, Alabama coach Nick Saban only made $11.25 million this year to helm his team. Poor Kirby Smart is in even worse shape after earning a meager $3.75 million to coach his student athletes.

$15 million compared to $7.2 billion?!

That is obscene!

But the two coaches banded together to shake down the NCAA for the same sweet deal the players will get for playing in tonight's multi-billion dollar generating game.

The coaches have torn up their silly contracts that pay them American dollars.*

Instead, they will be paid in...

EDUCATION!!!!

That's right, these two slick businessmen have found a way to be compensated with the same incredibly valuable commodity as all of the players who actually risk their bodies and brains in order to play a game for our enjoyment.

The coaches will turn down all other forms of compensation. In order to get this priceless deal, they also had to give up side jobs, speaking engagements, youth camps, endorsements, and the rights to their personal likeness.

Man the NCAA are suckers!

Saban and Smart totally fleeced them. To think the NCAA was going to get away with giving these guys money while they were holding out on the truly valuable commodity.

Man the 18-21 year old players are lucky they aren't able to get any kind of legal representation when entering into their contracts with these universities. If they did, those shysters might trick those poor players into taking money and life long health benefits in exchange for risking their health in order to make the NCAA $7.2 billion.

Enjoy the game!

*This is all false. No adult with legal representation would ever willingly pass up millions of dollars and take a college scholarship as their only compensation. Only kids who are being taken advantage of would do that.

Sort:

The NCAA has got to be the most hypocritical organization in existence. They say they are all about education but their actions are all about the money. The fact that it is so obvious but they still get away with it is ... genius? I don’t know what to call it but it is crazy they rarely get called out on it.
