Andrew Wakefield started this myth. He claimed the MMR(measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine caused autism. He did this because he was planning to market his own single vaccines of measles, mumps, and rubella individually. His paper was retracted and he lost his medical license, but the myth remained.
