The Thought Police Suck at 4chan: A compilation of censorship fails
Disinformation agents and agitators are becoming more sophisticated, but fortunately not more intelligent. This is just a small highlight reel of a few censorship organizations with some examples of their unsuccessful attempts to derail conversations and drown out politically opposed speech and ideas on 4chan.
Note: $0.02 is the average payout per post for ShareBlue and Correct the Record
Before we poke fun at them, let's refresh our memories and introduce the groups we'll be seeing today:
- ShareBlue is a web-based organization owned by Democratic blogger and troll, David Brock. It is essentially the same as his earlier project, Correct the Record, as it is primarily anti-Trump to the point of hysteria and devoid of any real contribution to journalism or constructive thought. For more in-depth information, see my previous article on David Brock.
- CREW (Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington) is a government watchdog organization which claims to be non-partisan in nature, but clearly targets conservative politicians ideas more often. In fact, Politico even stated that CREW was simply, "a vehicle for assaults on largely – but not entirely – Republican targets". All-in-all this makes CREW's mission the exact same as ShareBlue's, and this post will also prove that they share assets between each other.
So, with the history lesson out of the way, let's kick back and have a little fun now that I've verified and archived them all.
Eat your heart out, David Brock.
Correct the Record
Member says they trolled /pol/ for Hillary and "the manlets"
Note: "Little" did he realize (huehuehue)
Refers to Pepe as frog, never as Pepe. LARP detected.
Jesse of the "Alt-Right-Squadron" has a rough first day on 4chan
Part I - "Jesse" uploads file without changing the name, revealing their own name, the connection to CTR's "alt-right-squadron", that they use Internet Explorer, Windows and prepackaged memes. Pretty much all the fails in one convenient location.(archived thread)
Part II - "Jesse" is asked to come to his supervisor's desk a few hours later after 4chan users begin noticing something fishy with the account. (archived thread)
Fired CTR employee blows their own cover to /pol/ for revenge
ShareBlue
Employee has conversation by themselves while forgetting to change their filenames
Note: The first image is used by CREW as well as ShareBlue (archived thread)
Employees painfully struggle with renaming their images and get called out
Note: The filenames say "rename before posting", but English isn't usually their first language (archived thread)
CREW
CREW bots attack WikiLeaks using the exact same automated message
(archived thread) (another example)
CREW members struggle with filenames too :/
(archived thread) (countless examples of this same response being copied and used word for word)
Thats glorious! #FuckBrock I hope he rots...he's a pedo just like the rest of them!

Disclaimer: I am just a bot trying to be helpful.
I'm sure they'll improve their methods over time, but they blew it so hard at the beginning that I figure to post it so that maybe it'll help others recognize these kinds of disinfo/shill attacks.
That and it proves 1000x times over that Steemit is a superior platform for political discussion.
Excellent coverage and timely due to Brock's recent trouble.
Resharing @phibetaiota
Thank you and keep up the good work!

$ 0.02 ??? Times are tough.
They must have paid these guys more during the Hillary's run with the campaign warchest. I'm pretty sure CTR had millions in funding.
