According to the World Health Organization, the average Belarusian citizen consumption is 17.5 gallons of alcohol a year, three times more than the average world consumption of 6.2 liters per person, plus the average male consumption of Belarusians to alcohol is 27.5 liters annually.

Although the programme to combat excessive drinking and adopted by the Belarusian Government recently doubled the prices of alcoholic beverages, it seems that the culture of drinking culture is rooted in the peoples of Eastern Europe.
