Don't forget to look up!
Sometimes we get so caught up
looking down at all the minutiae of life
or trying to find our place
in the grander scheme of things
!!THAT WE FORGET!!
Remember
that sometimes
we can also
look up!
And you? Have you

looked up lately?

- remember: when you're not busy looking within, why not sometimes "look up!"
ouzo and out,
@onceuponatime
Another thing is don't forget to look back.
I know we should look forward many times but when you go somewhere, take pictures and keep going... well, sometimes you miss a good shot if you didn't look back.
Lookin' back:
Or this, "Lookin Back" from when I was young about 1973 recorded by Bob Seger right here in Detroit Michigan...
Looking down had contributed for me to find an occasionally 5 euro in the dirt.
Looking up though helped me find far more meaningful things than just papers. Most importantly hope and faith.
Five euros versus hope and faith LOL. How did you ever choose?
Well I spend the 5 euro in 2 minutes. I still have hope and faith though in reserve.
Not fractal reserve though. :D
If you could lend out your hope and faith on a fractional reserve basis, you would soon enough own everyone's souls! LOL
(p.s. Don't let the banksters know that I'm hip to their tricks!)
Like the GREAT Democritus said many centuries before Einstein, "Everything in this life is relative." Without being (nowhere near) as smart as Democritus or Einstein, I tend to agree with them. Let's say you are bitten by a snake and you need the antidote that costs 4,99E...What you need more in that "extreme" case? The 5 Euros or the hope for a better future (that will never come).
The kids in Syria or Iran that are bombed by the American, Turkish or Israeli army are afraid to look up the sky (which rains bombs for them), but they will desperately try to find hope in the mud of their motherland in order to find "life" (a flower that rises maybe?)
Want an even better example? You are in a house that its ceiling look like this:
While its walls look like this:
Where will you be looking? UP? LOL
Even better than to look up is to look within.
(in which case I wouldn't be faced with this no-win choice of yours LOL)
I played it "safe" here with a "hopeless" argument. This is an expression within law circles (non-victus situ) such as the famous "devil's advocate" when someone will have a problem for every solution. It's interesting, however, that many bright minds such as Democritus, Thales of Miletus, Nietzsche, Einstein and Voltaire among many others realized how "relative" things are in this world.
Only two - from what I know at least - pointed out the extreme significance of looking "within" one's heart: Socrates (according to his teachings) and Jesus later (according to his teachings). Coincidentally, they are the two historical figures I personally respect and look up to the most!!!!
Be prepared:
To stand up again:
After falling:
Into the muddy puddle:
Because it's kinda hard to watch where you walk when you look up lol :D
Those damn muddy puddles!
Each and every time I try to look up in the sky there is always a muddy puddle lurking around, waiting for me to let my guard down!
It's becoming common knowledge!
Where is up, where is down,
Where is back or front,
Look sometimes at beyond...
In think I already did, quite some time ago now :-)
Forbidden fruit fed me
Hidden eyes led me
To the House of Many Doors.
Woe is me,
I turned to see
I was without a key
Only, yes only, only
A need to be
Beyond all doors
well, sometimes I do look up but I see nothing but an empty ceiling. I guess the only time I look up is just before I go to bed. Pretty sad though.
Perhaps you could try to remember to look up at different times during your day!
Wow.... amazing views top of the cloud.it also right that from up everything is seen little on down. thanks a lot for the post.....@onceuponatime
Yes, no matter how high we think we are, most of us still spend our time looking down!
Your imagination is some kind of weird though they're interesting, leading someone to realize things, you somehow get unnoticed things to be noticed and you never fail inviting everyone to appreciate things.. looking up is not really that hard like it help me to clean the ceiling with all the cobwebs and dust hanging on top and living in ceiling fans. Lol, thanks for the share and God bless.
When you look up what you see is cobwebs and dust? I guess you are one of those people who should be looking down then LOL
Life is not "one size fits all."
Usually looking up seriously is to pray for me sir @onceuponatime, kinda teary when sincerity and heart takes it all and also a away of appreciating life. True realization and embracing God's grace
For me it is that..........and a 6 pack of beer :-)
Lol! Your really an amazing person with a great sense of humor sir, it is indeed and forget about the beer for it will cause u headache.
