MemeLove - Income Tax, Since When?
Not That Long Ago
When ever you talk to people and the subject of income tax comes up, apart from not thinking it's a form of theft. You always end up having the same argument, well how then would governments build things all the things they do, like roads, transport, social security and pay for all that they pay for? So you are telling me they had no roads before 1913? In my country income tax was only implemented around he 1960's. Well the only problem I have with this is that the roads have been built long before that, most of the income tax money gets lots in government, like paying for our presidents houses. Most of the tax money goes to social welfare, which a staggering 20mil people out of the 54mil population is currently on. There is only one outcome of trying to tax a country into prosperity, everyone ends up poor.
"I would like to electrocute everyone who uses the word 'fair' in connection with income tax policies." - William F. Buckley, Jr.
You're either laughing or you're learning.
"The income tax is a twentieth-century socialist experiment that has failed. Before the income tax was imposed on us just 80 years ago, government had no claim to our income. Only sales, excise, and tariff taxes were allowed." - Alan Keyes
I agree that taxation is theft. People just don’t understand that the bigger Goverment gets, the bigger it must get. Not to mention the inefficiency. A dollar of my tax is only about thirty cents by the time it gets to the beneficiary after the overhead. And as always, the Socialist want to take the money we may have been lucky or smart enough to accumulate.
