LSD car people.jpg

Again here we have another Car Guy Meme from the hilarious life of car people interacting with other people, lol. For most people LSD is a drug. Lysergic acid diethylamide is a drug which has hallucinogenic properties and classified as a psychedelic. Many people use this drug recreationally. However, in the auto motive industry an LSD is mechanical part of the drive line of a car and stands for Limited Slip Diff. This component effects the means by which the power produced by the cars engine is put to the wheels. A mechanical LSD can greatly improve how the wheels spin giving the driver more control of the vehicle when racing, drifting, hard driving or even just in street use.

As can be imagined I have had many encounters when discussing automotive LSDs where someone will think we are discussing drugs. The results can be some people getting very excited to be part of the conversation or having looks of disgust and disapproval thrown in our general direction, lol. This has happened many times over in my years working with cars, and im sure will continue happening. As such this is the basis of the creation of the meme, hope you enjoy :)

Thanks for sharing! :)

no probs hope you enjoyed it :)

Hahaha I do need a LSD i'm tired of my one wheel wonder lol. But I will probably just weld it haha

I am on the lookout for a mechanical LSD for my stagea, the factory LSD is working and ok, but just dont have the kind of bite i would like when pushing the car. Will be posting some pics and the story when i get it all happening eventually.

I had the diff welded in my AE86, lots of people complain about welded diffs but i love them. poeple say the are unpredictable, but i say they are very predicable the wanna spin all the time, lol. so just be ready to catch the car all the time and you will be right , lol.

I expect a full write up on the weld up @chris.scustoms lol

I also think they are predictable and that is the reason I want to weld it when I over power it it want to push sideways lol. It will probably be on video it will be my next task to do I'm in progress of finishing the cam and spring swap I have 8 more valve spring to go then Tuning.

yay getting there on the project, lol. yeah people sook about understeer and snap oversteer. but i think its just the way people drive. I had the welded diff in the AE86 for about a decade, if you drive it properly you have no issues.... just cant be a lazy driver is all, lol.

Yes driving sideways is not an issue for me lol. It was one of the goals for this truck.

TBH the only time i notice the locked diff is in car parks and tight spaces. normal driving is no issue. race driving, just learn how to drive properly and dont be lazy :) just have to settle the car into corners , once you get the hang of it its easy
