CONVERSATION WITH MY 4 YEAR OLD
"Mom, when I was a little star, before coming down to Earth, was I flying through the universe or was I staying in a single spot? I wasn't a lonely star, right?"
"Knowing you, I imagine you were probably flying." I replied, surprised by his questions, without having the slightest clue where this conversation would go.
I looked at him and he seemed to be far away. He took a few seconds to gather his thoughts. Then he continued:
"If I was flying that means I was going on warp speed, no?" He raised his eyes and looked at me, curious to see what I had to say.
"Probably!"
His last sentence got me intrigued. Before I said anything, he added:
"Was I wearing a helmet while I was flying?"
His question made me smile. Him, on the other hand, seemed to be very serious.
"Tell me, mom! Was I wearing a helmet?" His eyes were starring at me, waiting for me to answer.
"I don't think so! You were a star, not a child!" I replied laughing.
All of the sudden, I saw a smirky smile upon his face. I recognized that look. He had it coming for me. He raised an eyebrow and asked:
"If I wasn't wearing a helmet, while I was travelling through the universe at warp speed, why do you insist I have it on while I go on my bicycle or on my scooter? They can't go on warp speed. They're much slower! What do you have to say to that?"
My jaws dropped. I could not believe my ears. My kid had left me speechless. His logic made perfect sense!

Ha ha. What a smart little boy you have.
Too smart for his age, I would say! That might get him in trouble later on!
Kids will use their logic against you at times. If their logic contradicts your rules, they will tell you. You've got to give him that one though - his logic is actually pretty smart there. It's actually quite interesting how kids think.
I remember when I was working with preschoolers one of them was running around with a box on his head and I told him not to do that because it wasn't safe because he couldn't see where he was going. His response: "But it's my Minecraft head". I couldn't exactly argue with that logic- you can even buy expensive (well expensive for a cardboard box at least) printed cardboard minecraft heads with the Minecraft artwork on it so at least his was imaginative since it was a normal box. Ended up cutting eye holes in the box.
That Minecraft head might have had some powers you were not aware of ;0) lol
Aww this is so sweet, love the child's curiosity about everything, and how they see the world.
Everything is much simpler and there's a fix for everything. lol
I should introduce him to my little sister, they would become great friends :)
I guess they'll be having fun ;-)
Haha I loved reading this, makes me laugh!!;) Brilliant child of yours!!
this is great I love when our children show us how clever they are. Thank you for sharing your boy's brilliance with us all.
Each day they come up with something new. ;0)
Cute ❤️
Lol the logic of kids
That’s tough to answer also
That's awesome. It's also incredibly forward thinking. Super impressive that he was so many steps ahead!
This is only one of the times when he was way ahed of me ;0)
They're so much smarter than most people realize.
This is the cutest thing ever. The logic in their little brains amazes me sometimes. My daughter is three and says some crazy stuff to me. Last night she told me that she has two moms which is me and her mommom and her dad is her daughter. She is a bit confused there but she insisted this was true and her mind was not changing.
My son says is he my mommy and I am his child. This age is adorable simply for the things they say. Daily they come up with some crazy lines that in the same time make sense. lol
Yes it is crazy how much sense they make even when it doesn't make sense lol it is adorable. What your son said was actually a really thoughtful thing he had going there
