I am a twin, and this happens all the time with my niece and nephew. When they are older, around 5-6 months, they can tell the difference better. At 19 months my nephew has finally said my name correctly when he sees me.
My 12-year-old niece says I am more like an older brother to her, than an uncle (being single helps).
