Inappropriate "Christianity"

in #funny7 years ago

I just had to post this due to an interesting interaction I had with an "Christian" man who was doing some recruiting for a local church.

I am not against any religion and feel that you can follow whatever you wish. I am more agnostic and believe in a higher power but do not subscribe to any branch as all have been twisted and perverted for personal gain over time.

My issue with religion is when it is forced on you. I had some simple questions for him and he could not answer, got bent out of shape, and proceeded to blame me personally for the state of the US... All why staring at my chest at every opportunity he had... Shameful...

I'm pretty sure he was not picturing me "praying" as this sign suggest... But I'm sure he was definitely imagining me on my knees....

would you mind sharing your questions with us? :)

Absolutely... I asked about his thoughts on how the Bible takes stories such as "The epic of gilgamesh" and the "birth of horus" from more ancient works and rebrands them as "the flood story" with noah and of course "Jesus".

"But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God." 1 Corinthians 11:3

"But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence" 1 Timothy 2:12

Stories are re-branded to get something that works. Jesus is real, you lack of belief does not change that, nor does it change Satan being real, Allah, Yahweh, or even KEK for that matter. Belief is a powerful thing and Jesus helps people cope with the soulless.
