I think with the creation of all these sub communities we are seeing a nice evolution of the Steem blockchain. There are always people who will game the system and look out for only their self-interests, but there are enough community oriented people out there to balance the scales. What those self interested whales don't understand/realize is that their selfish acts drive away people from the platform and also prevent others from joining which in turn keeps the value of the coin low. Guys like Traf are very analytics and data driven but not seeing the unintended consequences of their actions hurts all of us in the long run. The selfish behaviour is immediate gratification but by not supporting the community you are hurting yourself in the long run
