I was attracted to Steemit because I knew a platform that could reward creativity without the need for institutions or middlemen would be huge

This is what attracts me too. Institutions, middlemen (and corporations) seem to stifle creativity and feed us mediocre creations.

Finally the public can choose what they want to read, without having it go through an editor with ulterior motives on what gets printed or broadcasted.
