Birthday, do some people not have them?
So as you can imagine yesterday was my birthday. I drank too much (water) and partied way to hard (spent the day with family). So I have finally made it, out of the teens and into the bigger world. Does it feel any different?
Nope not at all. Everything is still the same, although I woke up this morning with a sore neck... I must be getting old...
As my father says, the time for preparation is done, the time for decisions is upon you.

There has always been that joke going around in the family, "we did not make you, some one must have swapped you in the hospital." Well we are a little crazy, but for myself and my brothers we push this beyond the limits. Birthdays was always the best time, we got up to so much trouble. Never got away with it, but we still had fun.
I will never forget the experience we had with a fish eyeball at a birthday party. Lucky for us one of our older cousins was involved and he got into trouble.
Having a really huge family has it's benefits, especially when it comes to birthdays. So many presents from all the family members and extended family. As little children we would go crazy and stay awake all night, doing naughty things as we could not sleep. The excitement of the mountain of gifts was way to much to handle.
Looking at it now, I am now one of those lovely gift factory members for my family. Grown up now with many younger family members I can see how things have changed. Now for the fun part, what gifts do I give hehehehe. I have a few messy destructive ideas, I am sure the family is going to ask me not to give gifts once I start.
So do I have birthdays? Well no, I think they are more like days I get to do whatever I want with no punishment, a kind of "get out of jail free day". Do I use this to my advantage? Well you should hear all the stories.
Just on a little side note for self improvement. I will be doing pushups, situps and squats for the amount of $$$ (ratio;$1:1) I earn on this post and will give a short feedback every day at the end of each post. This will be split in equally between all 3. Any not done will carry onto the next day.
You will be doing a lot of exercise. Congratulations on your "get out of jail card". )))

@dragonslayer109 - Birthdays are the best - though you do not celebrate them once you are in the 'real world', you get pampered by family and friends and it is a 'get out of jail free day' as you put it. Many many happy returns of the day. You description of the gifts and the time you spent with the family made me remember my teens. Seems like a long time ago now. Now, we celebrate birthdays of kids! 😄 Upvoted.

@dragonslayer109 Thinking about birthdays as time goes on, the only real difference between childhood and adulthood is the person bankrolling your birthday fun.
Parents covered the cost of laser tag then, and you do it now. How you choose to party is totally up to you, from a somber reflection on wasted years to seeing your reflection in a cave pool while spelunking in Peru.
Yeah this is true. But it will be nice to choose where I go and how I want to through the party :)
There are also non-repeat master @dragonslayer109 non-birthday people are poor, sometimes their parents do not write and do not remember when the date of birth of the child, because they think it is not important, they are more busy take care of its chaotic economy.
