Hi Everyone welcome to TRUTH OR DARE. Wearing a wrist watch was a necessity back when mobile phones didn't exist. But nowadays things have changed somewhat. I saw this revolution from wrist watches to mobile phones and while i agree that having to use my phone for something so simple but necessary as what time it is? Well we all know that simplicity is always the best way to go i only use my mobile phone to confirm the time if anything because my wrist watch has always keep time and it's just a flip of the wrist to see what time it is, While as an example if your driving you might want to check you phone but that's illegal in most cities, and also in many cases you have to search for it then activate it taking your eyes off of what ever your doing takes time and coordination this is cumbersome and time consuming and dangerous as compared to just flipping your wrist and conveniently browse the time isn't it? Choosing a good watch is paramount try to buy wrist watch that the manufacture has a good reputation. I have been wearing a Seiko automatic no batteries self winding for over 25 years and it still works like new amazing mechanics have to say one of my best investments ever and it always helps me look well dressed, professional and on time. Back in time there was a time when almost everyone who worked anyways wore a watch of some type looking back i guess it also became a fashion statement of some sort hence the need for a Rolex if you wanna look really good:). I have found that wearing anything on my wrist is aggravating, although I used to wear a watch. These days though I just use my phone...
Nowdays,many people forgotten to wear wrist watch because they have smartphone,but to me wearing wrist watch is very important becaus I'm to alert with time. I have to be punctual when arrived at workplace,every 5min i will check and see my watch....
Thanks @darsico,this qustion is suitable for people who alert with time. Because time is like a gold,when it pass its never turn back.so we have to use it carefully.
you have a good point because the phones need charging but a watch has a unique simple service just tell time. Even thought now some are becoming more multi functional.
I still do just for style, who knows what will happen with the new smart watches, I don't have interest in buying one but we will see if they are just a fad or if they become mainstream
yeah i wear it for style but mostly out of habit, it's worn it's place into my arm lol:)
I do wear wrist watch. Because my job related with time. Must work in time if we didn't want any complaints. So that i have to see watch mostly every 20 minutes. ☺
everyone i knew who ever had a job and worked had a watch, actually people were noticed if they had a nice watch.
For me, i didn't notice people with nice watch. Usually I notice people with their characters ☺

I quit wearing a watch about two years ago. I kept breaking them. As soon as I got a phone I really did not need a watch any more.
I agree things have changed quite a bit, It is really kind of funny how something that used to be so valuable like a watch has been set aside for a different technology.

i know how you feel i actually put my wrist watch down for a few months just testing but i love my old watch if i go out without it i feel like i'm missing something.
I wear a wrist watch, Gant steel watch for work, not to expensive :) But i just check the time so much its annoying, slows time down it seems from time to time!
