Funny story
When I was a kid both my school and family relied on the fable of the "little boy who cried wolf" to teach us that lying was wrong and if we lie too much eventually people will stop believing us. One summer visiting my great grandmother in her rural mountain home she was telling my brother and I the story about the little boy who cried wolf. She told us the whole story and made it very personal. She then told us that she grew up next door to that little boy. Which of course made it THAT much more personal.
In Kindergarten through about the 4th grade, every year my teachers would tell that story. I would always get really excited and would raise my hand shaking. I couldn't wait until they called on me so I could tell them my story. They would call on me and almost gloatingly I would say " My great grandmother grew up next door to that boy". I was sooo excited and it was my families claim to fame. The teachers would always fight laughter.... I didn't understand why until years later I figured it out...... I was humiliated but quickly realized how funny it was.
Haha funny story, followed!
