Pornography and life
I read somewhere that there is such a big problem - the discrepancy between our expectations and reality. It was shown on the example of porn films, where everything is fun and beautiful, but in life everything is completely different.
Here I have the same thing. Going on the ski track, what do I imagine?
The girls are all such:
And men are like this:
And what in reality? The ridiculous shapeless figures, the gait of zombies and no aesthetics :)
And so on. And these are not specially selected photos - they are all like that!
Looking around, I began to suspect that I myself look like shame, even if I move faster than the absolute majority on our ski track. :)
What I have to do?
The recipe is probably simple. No need to watch TV, all evil from it :)

You need to re-align your expectations with reality.
The top photos are of top level competitors - the elite. The others are of ordinary people. If you turn up to a ski track filled with elite skiers then you would be correct to expect the top photos.
If you are an elite skier then you wold expect to look like the top photos.
If you are not then your expectations should be different.
For me, when I run, my expectations perfectly match the reality - I run like a little old grey haired man trying not to have a heart attack, while daydreaming that he is a lion running across the savanna.
Everyone else sees a little old grey haired man shuffling along the street looking like he is about to have a heart attack, with a strange look on his face.
So you have two options -
1 - become an elite skier and hang out with other elite skiers
2 - change your expectations to match your reality
