FunkyEdits HDR tutorial

in #funkyedits8 years ago (edited)

This is a FunkyEdits semi unprofessional tutorial on HDR

Ok so what is HDR, well it is High dynamic range. So this is the process of taking three images one underexposed one just right and one Overexposed.

The Human eye can see much more then any single picture your camera takes. So this is why and how we use hdr to recreate the memory with a more dynamic & vividly realistic or even surreal look depending on your style or preference.

Just get your images and transfer them into the software and have fun.

This is super fun & kinda easy if you are a photographer.

What to do

Well how do you get this you say well the features usually come in the today's professional cameras and even your smartphone can now have these options and you can work with them and adjust them in a post processing edit and very much make it funky and fun.

It brings more excitement to the image it brings a new version of that memory for you to experience when you see this beautiful piece of artwork that you're creating from a natural image.

How

So what do you use to create HDR you may Wonder. Well the HDR that I like to get the results of, come best with a program that I've been using for years called photomatix. This is a post processing HDR program that you can find on Mac or windows.

Recently I have purchased the Aurora HDR 2017 version. And this program is made by professional HDR photographers, one specifically that I learned a lot from and has influenced my work is Trey Ratcliff.

Trey

Now Trey Ratcliff is a well-known photographer that is living in New Zealand and travels the world and takes excellent HDR photographs of different places in the world and now teaches others to do the same type of processing with just the camera you have and with editing software. Specificly Aurora HDR with Trey being one of its creators.

The Best results are from raw images. But jpeg will work too. Depends on your amateur or professional preference.

Camera

Now it doesn't matter what camera you are using today any camera that you can purchase is a good enough camera to get these type of results even if it's just from post-processing. You can take a single image as well and just naturally change the image in an advanced form of tone mapping that will alter the image enough to where you can see this type of effect.

[2nd Results from just having fun]

This is more of a hint and information on how you can accomplish this type of edit than an actual tutorial.

This is a fun edit and a fun tag for seeing the more surreal funky type edits.

Now all lets have Fun and get Funky and see some #funkyedits

Hey bro, thanks so much this was fun. Funky fun, I remember seeing hdr come to the phones, android kicked it off I think. There is an explosion of madness to this photo and a bit of inspiration in the moment captured. Its fun to do if you can. These is a window into that yes. Step through and enjoy the ride of inspiration this took me for, as I hope it does to others the same.

be well

@sweetscience

I really like the grays blending just barely into blues with the yellows of the sun's rays as a really cool highlight. Very nice brother.

Yeesss me too, it looks so neat and surreal huh. Yes this one took me someplace more then the moment itself did. Happy edit here indeed thanks
