Fungi Friday Strange Polypores
Found some polypore and crust fungi. I'm not sure of the exact names of them.
I've seen the maze looking polypores get really big and there's some kind of purple crust fungi.

This sort of reminds me of hexagonal polypore but the symmetry is off.
This is the top of the hexagonal polypore.
Found some split gill aka Schizophyllum commune. I broke a piece of one off to show the topside. Happy #fungifriday

polypores are interesting. Good old split gill commune, that's a universal fungus, apparently it is edible?
Yeah it seems to be edible but it is very tough like chewing wood chips. There may be a way to cook it somehow but i've never tried it. Maybe it can be ground into a powder somehow and used for flour.

Yeah i have to dig into my books to see what the first 2 are and if they have any medicinal use. Maybe they would just be good as an exfoliant scrubber lol.

I have a large mushroom garden growing by my back steps. I'm assuming they are not edible since none of the critters have made off with them.
I bet it is a dryad's saddle you have a pucture of it?

Hmm that's an interesting one, i've seen a purple one shaped like that i'll have to look it up, probably not edible.
