Fungifriday: roasted Ink Caps
Ink caps are fungi that turn to mush and disappear very quickly but our climate is so hot and dry that they often get roasted before they decay. It rains for a few days, prompting fungi to start growing and then suddenly turns hot and dry and they dry out.
I like the little pinwheel patterns they acquire as they dry out. Here are some young ones that have popped out in a more protected location.

BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS!!
Thank you
I think these are toadstools, they are not edible. We have a lot of these mushrooms grow in the forests.
Yes, you have the right climate for it
These resemble the mica caps i see around here. Though with mica caps the young ones have little white specs on the caps.

Are they just as soft-bodied?
Fascinating what a short life they have.
Would be nice to see these in petrify form!

These mushrooms a little remind me of jellyfish :-))
