Create an impact pitch for a charity project in 5 simple steps!

There are many amazing humanitarians in this world but what differs the successful ones from unsuccessful is the ability to create a perfect impact pitch that moves people in the right direction. You can have the best idea in the world but if you do not know how to present it, it will do little or no good to the world. Today we are here to ease your worries and tell you about 5 simple steps that will help you to help others with your project.

Those 5 steps can be considered as generally good advice for any project but they work especially beneficial for charity projects. With crowdfunding, people usually support a specific category of projects and those who like innovations will rarely support charity. You want to create a project that will be interesting to everyone and here is how you need to do it...

The first thing you have to do is create the context and set the scene for your project. For example; it is always good to tell us about specific things that are going on in a certain country or a region. You can talk a little about the history of people who are living there, the economy. This is where you need to be general and not yet get into specific, that will be the next step. Consider this step as an introduction and a light preview to what is to come.

In this step, you need to present the issue and explain the problem. You need to do it in a way so people can visualize it and connect to it. Try to be as graphic and descriptive as possible and establish an emotional connection between the problem and the person who is reading about it. Emotions are powerful triggers so be sure that from all of the 5 steps, this one is the most important one. If your readers see the problem as important enough and develop a strong emotional reaction, you are already on a good path to having a successful project.

And here come the specifics. Talk about what you will do to fix the problem but do not go into philosophy or spirituality and step back from the emotions that you were dealing with in the last step. Here you need to be practical, simple, and understandable. You need to provide information about the exact actions you will take. Do not talk about money yet, that will come later on.

When you are done with the specifics from the last step, go wide. Expand your focus and present the big picture. Talk about the problem or the connection of the problem to other things from a global perspective. How will your project change and impact the world? What difference will it make in the grand scheme of things?

Now it is time to talk about money. Ask for support and be clear on how much you need. This should be your last step and nothing should come after it when it comes to your pitch. You need to be specific about not only how much you need but how will you spend that amount. The more precise you are with your budget the bigger your chances of succeeding are. Do not be secretive. Plan ahead and present the right data.

Context, Issue, Solution, Impact, and Ask. Those are your 5 steps for a perfect charity project pitch. Follow them in that specific order and you will not go wrong. Keep in mind that this is the pitch we are talking about, not the entire project. A pitch should not be more than a paragraph long if you are presenting via text and somewhere between 3 and 5 minutes long if you are doing a video. Try to keep each of these steps no more than two or three sentences long. We do suggest that you start your project presentation with a pitch and then provide more details afterward. You should also use that pitch when you are sharing images, videos or text on social media and presenting your project in any way to your future investors, supporters, and backers. Good luck!
