Volta Region Outreach #Ho

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed like overalls and looks like work

Day in day out new things are learnt and discoveries are made, new treatment regime and well as new diseases too, new article publications suggesting new and better ways of doing things, new diagnostic approaches. This very well informs us and let us understand well that evolution is not a one day thing or something that happened in the past but rather is still persist and is ongoing and for us not to be left behind in these developments and changes our system tries to also evolve and adapt to new stimuli within the surrounding.

This outreach was held in a local town in Ho in the Volta region which is approximately 7 hours drive from the Ashanti Region, precisely Kumasi. I would say our dream of reaching out to more and more people irrespective of the distance is coming in bits and pieces, it a believe that we will get there. So long as our loved ones and supporters continue to shower us with their love, we will continue to give out our best and serve humanity. Long live Visual Health Care.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time

What is @bettervision about?

@bettervision is is a project initiated by @nattybongo and friends to give back to the society the knowledge and skill acquired through the Optometric Studies in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana.It is an outreach system where we visit the less privileged communities to offer free eye screening services and education to the people within the community

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To reduce or prevent vision loss through diseases such as glaucoma, cataract and refractive errors.

To enlighten the majority of the Ghanaian population about the importance of proper visual care.

To conscientize people on the need for regular eye checks

To get more people to have their wards screened within the Critical periods of a Child’s Vision Development; thus from ages 3 to till about 10 years.

To help the blind and people with low vision live a better life within the society through education of the general public to stop stigmatization.

Our greatest gratitude goes to @fundition @adollaraday @surfyogi @girlsfoundation @bleepcoin @ackza and @wafrica for helping to make the aims and objectives of @bettervision a reality.
