For all the five towns we visited, Dansekrom, Atobrakrom, Kwakokrom, Omanadwareye and Yawhenemekrom, we did some clothes distribution for the indigenious folks. It may sound strange or in unbelievable to some people but in each of these villages or towns there people whose clothing were in such deplorable state that they actually need help in getting new ones because they could not afford it. These individuals were so much grateful for the change in wardrobe that we brought them.

So how were we able to have help such that we were able to help all these towns, because irrespective of the fact that they are not so large, it still would require lots of financing and other means of help to have accomplished this taking as aside the free health services rendering which is a skill we have acquired from school. Before the month of December donation bags were left at vantage points around campus encouraging all who had the affinity to contribute to helping others to leave something in them. Some lefts clothes whiles others left provisions, some even supported financially.

It was all these that were put together to make these outreaches a success, not forgetting the support from the blockchain too for the medical team especially. We are grateful to all and sundry for the love and empathy towards others. May God bless you all.

What is @bettervision about?

@bettervision is is a project initiated by @nattybongo and friends to give back to the society the knowledge and skill acquired through the Optometric Studies in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. It is an outreach system where we visit the less privileged communities to offer free eye screening services and education to the people within the community

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To reduce or prevent vision loss through diseases such as glaucoma, cataract and refractive errors.

To enlighten the majority of the Ghanaian population about the importance of proper visual care.

To conscientize people on the need for regular eye checks

To get more people to have their wards screened within the Critical periods of a Child’s Vision Development; thus from ages 3 to till about 10 years.

To help the blind and people with low vision live a better life within the society through education of the general public to stop stigmatization.

Our greatest gratitude goes to @fundition @adollaraday @surfyogi @girlsfoundation @bleepcoin @ackza @indigoocean @kasho and @wafrica for helping to make the aims and objectives of @bettervision a reality.
