Hello wonderful Steemians!
I have a new update for the surthrival trailer project to document the building of a 10'x20' caterpillar style greenhouse which will be transported in the trailer. This will be the first part of a 2 part build update.
I began this project by bending 8 10' sections of 1&3/8" top rail fencing using a tubing bender with 1&1/2" rollers.
I used an crescent wrench to successively tighten the tubing bender to create the desired radius on the top rail. I used top rail chain link fence sections because the ends are pre-swaged to fit together. The ends have a male/female end in which one has a smaller diameter and will fit inside the other.
I recently went in on a deal with a friend for $84.00 to acquire this 20'x 100' section of 6mil plastic. I need this length in order to create a double layer of the plastic using 2 50'lengths.
I connected a center connection using 1/2" metal conduit and crossing zip ties. As you can see I previously created a wooden frame for the ends of the greenhouse. These will be replaced with 4 more pieces of bent top rail for transport and the wood will be re-purposed.
Here is another view of using an x to hold the 1/2" conduit in place.
I measured out a 50' section in my yard with a 25' measuring tape.
Using a sharp pair of scissors I cut the plastic roll in half.
The thick plastic can be a bit difficult to cut so my line was a bit off center. The plastic was cut to such a long length in order to bunch up the ends to be staked in the ground. I will be concluding this build with another update.
Thank you for your time if you gave this a read!
Yours in liberty toward a brighter future, may the great creator bring peace and joy within your hearts, Greg @makinstuff
Very cool! Looking forward to seeing how this turns out :)
Thank you, thank you

Looks good so far! Two layers of plastic sounds solid, are you planning to put air pressure between for extra insulation? I understand that you may not need that down south, may stay warm enough for your plants there without.
The use of Chain link top rail is smart, the swaged end is the toughest shape to make.
