With 07 New Machines, we can end textile pollution in the city of Bamenda, reduce inequalities, reduce female youth unemployment and reduce poverty among young girls in Bamenda

@ecodesigns is a textile recycling and fashion designing hub that is training young girls in textile recycling and fashion designing in a bid to alleviate poverty and youth unemployment, reduce inequalities, improve the health and wellbeing of the poor and disadvantaged, as well as reduce textile waste pollution and clean-up the city of Bamenda, North West Region - Cameroon.

We already have 06 machines but need 07 more machines to effectively engage the 13 young girls of our hub.

For over a month now, we have been crowdfunding on @fundition to raise funds to purchase sewing machines to effectively educate and engage the 13 young girls of our project in our textile recycling and fashion designing.

While seeking for your support, we just wanted to let you know what we already have and what we are currently doing.

We currently have six sewing machines, Solar lamps, a spacious hub equipped with furniture.We have already enrolled 11 young girls in our textile recycling and fashion designing project with whom we have been working with for over a year now. We also have 02 Training Directors who are training the 11 young girls.
Our Training Directors are @fonirene who is in charge of textile recycling and fashion designing and Bamujoh Cecilia who is in charge of embroidery.
This year, our goal was to upcycle 5000kgs of textile waste, train 11 young girls in textile recycling and fashion designing, and improve the health and wellbeing of 100 persons by donating them Clothes and Shoes we collect from our Clothes Drive.
So far, we achieving our goal of training 11 young girls by 100% because we have 11 young girls who are currently being trained at our hub. Two of these ladies will be graduating as professional Eco0Fashion Designers and Textile recyclers in December.
We are achieving our goal of improving the health and wellbeing of 200 persons by 25% and we are achieving our goal of textile recycling by 50%. The slow rate in the attainement of these two goals is due to the lack of machines to improve our output and this explains why we are crowdfunding to purchase more machines. We currently have just 6 machines for the 11 trainees and 02 trainers of @ecodesigns.
Our six sewing machines include;

1. An Emel industrial Sewing Machine

2. A Butterfly industrial Embroidery Machine

3. 02 Butterfly Sewing Machines and 02 Singer Sewing Machines

4. We also have Lamps that were donated to us by @chrisaiki and @solarcoach to light up the hub in times of power failure.

Our hub is well equipped with furniture and has been able to sell her upcycled products to pay the rents and electricity bills for over a year now. Our major challenge is the lack of machines and we need your support.

We can do more but we lack materials and machines to increase our textile recycling and women empowerment project. We have 11 trainees and 02 Training Directors but have just 06 machines which are not enough for the 13 young girls who are striving to get empowered as well as clean-up the world. It is for this reason that @ecodesigns is striving to raise funds to purchase 7 machines so that we can double our productivity and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our textile recycling and fashion designing training.
