How will fundition.io impact the life of an African?

in #fundition-io6 years ago (edited)

Africa is considered to be one of the poorest continents in the world despite the fact that it has the youngest generation that has the power to change the world. As an African youth, I ascribe this to the inaccessibility of funds that are being injected in to the projects, for example, recently In Uganda, $4,642,225 was released to the youth as start-up capital to those that had pitched business proposals to the government, Shockingly 99.5% of the youth did not receive this money after all the hard work,so inevitably their dreams were shuttered since the highest aspiration was in the funds. This does not only happen to Uganda but to also other African countries. Nonetheless, Africans let us not turn our backs to our dreams, there is still light at the end of the tunnel owing to the fact that in this blog am going to elaborate on how a revolutionary platform Fundition is going to impact some of the sectors of Africa.

Fundition .io

Fundition is a next-generation, decentralized, peer-to-peer crowdfunding and collaboration platform, built on the Steem blockchain. Its goal is to replace old centralized models (such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Patreon, or GoFundMe), and offer a way for individuals and organizations to either fundraise for or give to meaningful projects.

Which sectors in Africa can funditon.io impact?

  • The health sector.
Good health is a precious gift to every single person, however, in Africa, it is not prioritized at all. My little sister has just finalized with her internship in Mulago hospital(one of the biggest hospitals in Uganda), during her intern she was working in the children's cancer ward, so some days she would share her experience in the hospital with me and I would reduce to tears. These children are living a life with no hopes, to top that, 6/10 have been abandoned by their guardians because they can not afford the hospital bills. The most down hearting thing is when they are forsaken, the hospital gives them away for adoption without a background search on who is taking the child. It is not only the cancer patients that need attention but also the patients with tuberculosis, HIV and many more.

  • Education sector
Two days back I read an article on the internet, It is about how 1,095 primary pupils have quit school due to learning on an empty stomach and they have resorted to fishing. There are quite a number of challenges that affect this sector, for example, inadequate infrastructure, It may be unbelievable but in Africa, there are a number of schools where children study under trees meanwhile sitting on the ground. Furthermore, Education is very expensive for the parents to cough up.

  • Business.
70% of Africa is dominated by micro-businesses owing to the fact that the funds are limited. Nevertheless, they are people that have dreams of having multi-billion dollar companies, Most of these people with clear visions end up getting huge loans from the bank and sometimes the company does not run as expected hence losing their property in bank foreclosures.

Do you think fundition.io will resolve these challenges?

Absolutely!! it has the potential, however, it takes the African steemit community to work conjointly to spread the good news to the public. As I mentioned before, the funds are available but it is only a few people that can access them, but with fundition.io every one can get the funds directly as long as the project is good. Let's take an illustration if the Uganda steem community (50+) members visit the children cancer ward and then every steemian takes up one child who they are entitled to running a fundition.io campaign every week automatically, this is going to provide a constant income to these children. Despite the fact cancer is incurable but the children will be provided with more years of worthwhile and a quality life. The same operation can be done to schools but with a school, the board of directors are in a position to run the campaign although all it takes is the Uganda community to inform the people in the sectors.
