Caracas may well be known as the city of the many events. In its streets there are many stories of love and sacrifice, but also stories cruel dressed in vice and violence. Maybe this happens everywhere in the world, it would be clumsy on my part to say the opposite. However, through these streets the hope of a better future is constantly wandering. A future that men pursue as a way to forget reality and to cling to a dream to fight for.

This photograph precisely reflects this, or at least for me it is like that. I captured it a Monday at 6:25 a.m. right on the way to my university. At this time the colors of the sky did not want to paint a city that follows daylight like moths. Maybe they didn’t want to do it because they wanted to maintain this perpetual state of tranquility, painted in that almost pink sky. Though the citizens do not accept orders and starting much earlier they were in the streets. All pursuing their dreams, trying to survive.

Caracas is a city without a clock, each person has their own time, they go at their own speed and move at the pace that best suits them. Among its many hidden secrets among words forgotten on its walls, is the history of many years. This city is a huge puzzle, all things and all people are bound by an invisible thread with which they are predestined to encounter. Everyone knows each other, in one way or another, and what is done in one place always remains in the fragile memory of citizens, as if it were a story worthy of filing away in memory.

This is how, without realizing it, Caracas is built of forgotten memories that only very few are willing to find and decode. Maybe, you can be one of those adventurers who will be able to decipher the strange names of the streets, the murals and sculptures that lead to churches and architectural buildings without names, lost in their own history. Perhaps, traveler, you can discover the secrets of Caracas as well, or end up being part of them.
