@polebird:❤️Lake Life - My weekend camping experience - Part 1 ❤️
I went on a last minute camping this weekend for short weekend get away from my hometown of Dallas to our neighboring state Oklahoma! This was my family’s first time to camp at Lake Murray, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. We chose our camp site Friday morning when we arrived. This particular camp ground has a first come first serve policy, so the early bird definitely gets the worm (or at least pick of the spot!) The view out of our tent was beautiful! This is definitely the closest I’ve stayed to the water’s edge. You definitely can’t stay this close to the water in MOST hotels. :D
We chose a spot right on the lake’s edge.
There was even a little small beach right below our camp site. I set up our camp couch in the water for maximum relaxation. :P
Kylie had a bit of fun playing frisbee as well!
A short but fun hike brought us to one of the highest points of the lake where the views stretched onwards.
I had an awesome time fish feeding and a funny goose! :D
My trusty hammock came with us as usual. Here’s Watty, just hanging out!
We started a campfire at sunset on the mini beach. Something about a campfire makes for a cozy camp feel. S’mores are a staple of camping traditions and always one of my favorite parts of the campfire experience!
I will say, it was suprisingingly cold at night, dropped down to the 50s which was a big contrast to the warmth of the day. So I was glad I brought a few extra warm items, just in case. It was a full moon and there were definitely some coyotes howling in the woods!
Camp food to complete the camping experience and hot coffee, made on our portable camp stove.

Omg this looks like so much fun! Ive been wanting to go camping for so long now. This place looks awesome, I love the picture on the rocks! Im glad you did this, last minute trips are the best kinds.
Heheh you definitely should! There always some outdoor gems around if you look into it :) camping is always great fun and a change from the norm, although it requires moving a BUNCH of stuff just for one or a few nights lol

The camp area look very calm. Are the fish for fun or did you guys eat some?
hahah watson was just more chilling and relaxing for his camp experience :P The fish feeding was for fun! :) it was very calm friday... hahah I have a different post coming up regarding the next day - much UN-calmness.
