Thanks. I think there is too much blur in it. Will try this on another image later today to get a better image.
The technique used is called frequency separation.
It is done, by using three layers.
One with the original image, one with a blur filter, one with the difference between the original and blurred one.
This makes it possible to, for instance, retouch the skintone without touching the skinstructure and the other way around.
I could write a post about it, but you will find some vids on it on youtube as well.
