When you live in the UK you never really know for sure how good a summer it's going to be. I remember a few of my childhood summer holidays ruined by weeks of rainfall and this trait has been a consistent one in my adult life too. Most folks in the UK still haven't forgiven the Pop-singer, Rhianna, after spoiling one summer by her untimely release of the hit song "Umbrella". This meant a whole summer of dreadful weather had to be accompanied by an equally dreadful song, and one which just seemed to rub your nose in it a little too much..."Eller, Eller, Eller. Under my um-ber-rella, eller eller"...Ohh the irony!

So, Rickets and vitamin deficiencies aside, one good symptom that comes from having such unpredictable seasons is this... When the British are finally blessed with a hot summer we dam-sure make the most of it! We can't wait to dive to the bottom of our cupboards and dig out the mouldy summer selection. T-shirt, shorts and flip-flop combo at the ready and we're out of the house quicker than you can burn an ant with a magnifying glass!

As many of you are aware, the majority of Europe is being baked by a heatwave and this invisible blanket has managed to stretch itself over to our green and pleasant island. How long it will last is anyone's guess but you can be sure that us Brits are soaking it up and squeezing every last ray from the sun.

As steemit is made up of people from all over the globe I thought it would be nice to give you a glimpse into a side of England you rarely see(A sunny side!) So here are a few pictures I've taken over the last few days and I hope you all enjoy them.
