Whether its idiots in power with weapons they should never be allowed near or nuclear reactors that melt down because we are more concerned with money rather than the extremely dangerous risk of 154 nuclear reactors melting down all across America, one must take proper measures to give yourself the best chance at survival
Honestly, I am not even sure how we begin to move away from this type of energy but I do know we must start now!

I've tried to warn people around me about this. I explain that when they eat tuna and other seafood that they are very likely consuming radiation which collects and builds up in the thyroid gland. What is disheartening is that not only do they not get it, they do not want to get it. I think that it comes down to this...they know that radiation is dangerous, but they do not really understand how, or why. They seem to think that as long as it is on the other side of the planet that it will not have an effect on them. The magnitude of this Fukushima situation is mind boggling and they just cannot wrap their mind around it. Even if you find someone who can they do not know what to do about it and are left with a helpless feeling. Therefore, they do not even want to confront it, which is the result we have from the PC mode of thought (a form of of thinking that doesn't really involve thinking).
My understanding of Japanese culture is that pride plays a very important role in their thinking. Respect and reputation are everything and therefore worth dying for. It looks to me like the Japanese government is covering this up not only to salvage their reputation as a nation, but for economic reasons as well. The 2020 Olympics are scheduled to be held in Tokyo. How devastating would it be for Japan as a nation to have the Olympics moved to another location because of this? Not even Hitler's Nazi Germany had the Olympic event taken away from them. To legitimize the concern for the radiation leak in this manner would wake people up globally to the ramifications of what we are going to witness in the future as a result. What are the economic and international legal ramifications? Again, it is too big for people to wrap their mind around and it it is easier to just ignore it and go on as if everything is okay. If you understand the epic ramifications then it is terrifying to look at the thumbnail on the video you posted showing the map of the movement of the radiation through the ocean. Therefore when they see the word "Fukushima" they keep scrolling.
Ill have to give you a better response than the one im about to give (need my keyboard), but you are 100% spot on. The ramifications are dire and as ive stated in many other post, its now time for the people to take charge. Its the only way things will get done...we are literally causing our own extinction and that of other species. This is a NOW issue....
