10 Delicious Tropical Fruits of Cambodia

These days, tropical fruits are available in almost every supermarket in the world. Fresh fruits are a critical part of a healthy balanced diet for everybody living. So please keep healthy when travelling in Cambodia and enjoy the amazing and delicious fruits of this nation!  

1. Durian  

The durian, known as “Thouren” in Khmer, is frequently cited as the "King" of tropical fruits. Its scent is unique to the point that hotels, buses and airlines restrict respective customers from conveying the durian and numerous foreigners bring themselves to sample the tasty flesh – however it is well worth it! 5. Longan    

Known as “Mean” in the Khmer language, longan is another little, round, sweet tropical fruit. Longans have a somewhat drab, beige skin shading, however once peeled the flesh is clear white and sweet. Inside the longan has a hard dark seed. Longans are generally sold in bundles with the stalks still attached.    

6. Rambutan    

Rambutans, known as “Saomao” in the Khmer language, have an exceptionally unique appearance, the external skin being a reddish shell and covered in soft, thick hairs. The internal flesh is translucent white, which is sweet and succulent and contains a smooth seed. Like longans, rambutans are ordinarily sold in bundles with the stems also attached.    

7. Banana    

Bananas, called as “Chek” in the Khmer, grow copiously in Cambodia and consequently are a staple dietary thing. When you walk around the markets in Cambodia you will see that there are numerous assortments of this tasty natural product. And also being expended as fresh fruit and used in sweets, other prominent methods for eating banana include deep-fried and sun dried. 8. Mango

9. Jackfruit    

The Jackfruit is a standout amongst the most unique products of Asia. Known as “Khnol” in the Khmer language, jackfruit is an extensive, oval organic product with a light-green, spiky skin. 10. Watermelon

Fruits are nutritious at same time healthy ....we must include fruits in our diet all the time.. but ripe mango is a fruit that has sugar because of its sweetness we should eat it in moderation

Haven't tried mangosteen, longan, durian and rambutan. They are not available in my Country in Nepal. Someday if I visit Cambodia then I will try them out.
