Tomatoes can be regarded as a type of fruit, but in its use most often is as a vegetable. The sour taste is often considered to increase the delicacy of many types of cuisine. As a fruit, delicious cooked tomatoes are also consumed raw; and there is an interesting, that is good enough tomato to make fruit or juice drinks. So what are the benefits of tomatoes for health, including views of its nutritional content? Tomatoes are known to contain a kind of powerful antioxidant called Lycopene in large quantities, the substance that makes red in this fruit. Not only that, tomatoes have also been shown to contain a compound called alpha lipoic acid, which is useful to help control glucose in the blood, increase vasodilatation and protect against retinopathy in diabetic patients, it can even help the preservation of brain and nerve tissue. Nutritional compounds found in tomatoes, including choline, are important nutrients that help sleep, muscle function, learning, and memory function. Choline also helps to maintain the cell membrane structure, helps the transmission of nerve impulses, helps the absorption of fat, and reduces chronic inflammation.
