Real Friends

Real friends are those whose presence brings out the very best in you. They are always there but not necessarily present and they make you wear cologne at 6am for a morning coffee because they set a standard that you just can not fail to meet.

My real friends are worth their weight in Unobtainium. Which is my unnecessarily nerdy way of telling you that they are priceless… Google it.

They should be kooky, quirky and extra like a terrestrial. They should stop at nothing, laugh a lot, play hard and hustle harder, but most of all they should stay true to themselves. Real friends are real people, they are not your PA, they are your EI (External Inspiration) and they are not responsible for your personal successes or failures. A real friend should focus on themselves, developing and nurturing their own genius and essence into the fullest of its potential. Only by doing so can they truly provide the Unobtainium-worthy service of inspiration and shoulder to shoulder motivation in the trenches of life, on this strange and colourful ball floating through the dark endless abyss of… nothing… and everything.

There was no particularly deep and meaningful reason for this message, other than to express the absolute love and gratitude that I have for my most valued of friends. You know who you are.
I hope that this prompts an expression of love for your personal nearest and dearest and honesty, we have valentines day, we have mothers day, we have fathers day, how about a best friends day! A day dedicated to those whom you feel bring out the best in you. They’re just as important in my eyes.
