Looks like petrified lichens!
I bought this small slab
from our local rock shop.
Size of the little rock flowers.
These lower photos are
more like the way this stone
looks to me, color wise.
Full view sitting on my rock book.
It's about a 1/2 inch thick.
Ripple and kaleidoscope
effects made with Lunapic.
These photos were taken
with a Samsung G7 phone.

Thank you very much @steemboard!
The pictures came out real nice with the phone. They do look a lot like one would imagine fossilized lichens to look like.
Thank you very much ❤ @bashadow!
Need to try some real sunshine when it
comes back out again!
A good detergent should clean that up :-)
LOL
Can you recomend a good one?
Ajax :-)
That is gorgeous. They certainly do look like lichens. What else could have created that sort of pattern? I have never seen that before.
Thank you ❤ @melinda010100!
Chrysanthemum stone, feldspar and hornblende
flowers in andesite. They say rare Alaskan goodies
and hard to get to. I might want to go get some
more if there is any left lol
I wish Steem was worth more right now, I'd have you get one for me.
Will see if he has any left, maybe we could
work out a trade :-)
That is so pretty! I have never seen anything like that . Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you so much @nat-expressions!
I hadn't either till seeing it there at the
rock shop. He gets rocks from all over,
hunts them in the wild, acquires them through
estate sales and trips to the lower 48 etc.
This is one is unique for Alaska they say.
Searching the name and looking at images
of the many different but similar ones
found around the world. So many cool rocks!
