Friday Sky Blue ColorChallenge

in #fridayskyblue6 years ago

Today is Friday Sky Blue photography day, so I took these pictures of some sky, they also show trees, and of course the color green, so I could have used them on Tuesday for Tree Tuesday or on Thursday for Thursday Green, but I decided to go for the blue color which by the way is my favorite color, and I think there is enough blue in these pictures.

The pine tree shown is a Pinus Caribaea variety this is a tree that grows at lower heights and it is common to see them close to the coast, they produce good quality wood, there is even a good grove of them on the island of Guanaja, which is called the Isle of Pines because of this. Of course before 1998 when Hurricane Mitch practically destroyed most of the vegetation on that island there were way more pine trees.

The pine is the national tree of Honduras, but according to what I have read the pine variety of the national tree is Pinus Oocarpa, which is the most abundant pine tree in Honduras, this type is found at a higher elevation.
