Magic of the season/ #freewrites

She entered her house, still shivering from the incident that happened five minutes ago. She had gone out to have a drink with her friends. She didn't remember how a drink turned into five bottles.

She was driving home drunk. She didn't see the slim,lanky man with huge afro. She could have sworn he fell right in front her. Or, she had close her eyes for a millisecond.

A millisecond is all you need to hit someone with your car while drunk

She nudged off her thoughts and went straight to her children's room. They were both sleeping in their separate beds. She kissed them, and couldn't keep her eyes off them. Her beautiful sons, they would have been taken from her if the accident had been disastrous.

She could still remember the way car had bumped backward when she hit him. She closed her eyes and prayed dearly for it to be a stone. She opened them to see the tall man trying to get up. She rushed out of the car to help him, pleading and saying sorry. She was surprised he had no injuries. He wasn't angry either. He just left telling her he was alright.

She felt so lucky with the incident and she drove with her eyes wide opened till she got home.

Mum, you are back. Jason's voice jolted her back to reality.

Oh, yes dear. I am sorry i came back late
She replied him.

I hope santa brought you a christmas gift too. You worked a lot throughout the year, He said.

She smiled.
He gave me the magic of the season, she said.
