Eat up! - A short tale
Eat up!
He could hear everything, but he didn't dare open his eyes. It was like coming out of a story or worse yet entering into it, only it was not a happy story, but rather a nightmare.
He heard murmurs and screams: "Eat up!", that reminded him of his mother's hysteria when she insisted on forcing him to eat the vegetables, a horrible practice that was repeated every day before he left. But this time it was a rare event, his mother hadn't been home for a long time... Who yelled at her to eat her vegetables?
His instinct forced him to stay still, shrunken like a fetus, squeezing his eyes. But, the entity's gaze in front of him made it difficult, he snorted in his face, and cried: "Eat up!"

He freaked out! What would he see if he dared to open his eyes? I wasn't sure, but nothing good would come of it. If she were his mother, running away from the psychiatric hospital, she could even kill him, she wasn't in her right mind. What if it wasn't her?
Fear ran through his veins like a raging river. He lost her sense of time and space. He felt that he had become a child again, that frightened and fearful child of everything around him and that only his father knew well and controlled.
Then, she clung to that light and the memory of her father continued in her head saying: "You have to face your fears, otherwise you will end up psychotic, like her, and your mind will be filled with demons."
That's why, despite the panic that took hold of his unbridled heart and his closed eyelids, he managed to open her eyes little by little...So, the shadows dissipated along with the forged image of a faceless woman and the voices were extinguished.
