Busted, itchy with poison ivy, AND grounded on Halloween? That would certainly teach them a lesson, but I have a feeling the lesson would be to avoid poison ivy, maybe not to stop sneaking around.😉 Like others I thought the mom would find the leaves, so the image of both families coming down with rashes was a surprise. I thought the leaf description was just to paint the scene, but upon a reread I see it's good foreshadowing.
