The Baseball Writer’s Club
A Conversation
“Okay, gather around. You know the rules. We select teams based on baseball and writing ability."
"What if I can’t swing a bat?"
"You’re a right-handed writer?"
“Uh, yeah.”
"We’ve got another outfielder. That makes 23. If you can really write, we’ll move you to shortstop or pitcher. Words play trumps baseball experience."
"I write a mean limerick."”
“Let’s hear it."
"There was an old man writing his obit.
Frankly, he just felt o’er it.
Two wives and a child,
None meek or mild.
They all want his money forthwith."
“We have a pitcher!"

Haha, bizarre, but I love it! I have a feeling my school sporting career might have gone a lot better if the teams were selected like this...
Hahaha I feel like that's how we would pick teams at the freewrite house! Great conversation!
I was giggling all through, what if the freewrite house did this too, then
" we have a pitcher "
