Morally bankrupt, the politician thought it prudent to seek Counsel
From an wise lady doing the Overnight
Wash in his district far from the undignified Rabble
And back-door deals made in the Early
Morning breakfasts or the capitol Vestibules
Where the price for a vote could sway Around
From one influencer to a second Lobbyist
And sometimes a third if they reached an Understanding
She listened to his weak prattling Explanations
Then sat silent until she offered this advice: "Nothing I say will redeem your Soul."
