I got lucky during brush collection pick up in our neighborhood, this week. Every six months, the City of San Antonio has either bulky item pick up or brush pick up in different parts of the city. That way you don't have to go to the city dump to throw away a couch. I was pulling out of my driveway and noticed the yard guys working on my neighbor's lawn. I noticed a pile of brush and a potted plant laying in the pile.
I headed to Debbie's for dinner, then on my way back home I noticed that the plant was still in the brush pile, so I picked it up. I took it to Debbie and she re-potted it. This is how it looks this evening.
I used the "Picture This" app to identify the plant and it's called a "Painted Nettle", or "Desperate Love". Why anyone would throw away such a beautiful plant is beyond my comprehension. All it needed was some water and a new pot to live in. People throw away the craziest things during these city pick-ups, so I keep an eye out during these times of the year. The less stuff that ends up in our landfills, the better off our Earth is! 🌎

Yes on picking up plants!! And other useful items. We used to do that when I was young and sometimes, there were true treasures. People need to reuse stuff way more!!
Glad you saved the plant :)
I used to collect things too, but these days there's no room left to put anything more
We have that plant here in our country. Didn't know what it was called until now. Why would they throw away that plant. Well it seems to be desperate for love and I'm glad you found it.
I have a couple of those plants in my garden but not as big as these. Mine are still young. Lucky find you got! They are beautiful.

This type of plants can be easily found here and so easy to take care of them. Such a beauty you have made it.
