Today I went to my favorite gold and silver shoppe and was able to get my grubby little hands on this cute little piece of antique ivory. I'm going to call it my 'lil mushroom grub! I've been eyeing this piece for months now, but the shop owner wouldn't sell it to me, he just used it to display his jewelry. I got close a couple times but when it was time to pull the trigger, he'd back out.
Well today, I was able to resurrect a deal, because he was short on cash and wanted me to buy a bunch of silver dollars.
I told him I would make the deal, if he threw in my mushroom buddy, at a reasonable price. "Grubby" came home with me and is sitting in our curio cabinet. I usually don't buy ivory because of the way it's obtained, but this is walrus tusk.
