First things I think of when I see the word vinyl
Below is my 5 minute #freewrite on today's prompt: vinyl

When I first saw today's prompt by @mariannewest, the first thing that came to mind was how I used to listen to my music. Buying 45's and LP's was the best way to listen to music, especially if you liked to listen to the same song, over and over. Alotta my friends would learn the words to songs and they always used their vinyl records, instead of their 8 tracks. I was more into learning the melody, so I could whistle those tunes and annoy everybody. I still have a working turn table set up at my house, just it case I decide to listen to these oldies but goodies.
The other thing I thought of when I saw the word vinyl was my dad's 1965 Plymouth Fury, with vinyl seat covers. I can still see the little triangle bumps covering his like new interior, keeping our grimy little hands from staining his light blue cloth bench seats.
Boy he loved that car!

The record store in the mall where I grew up used to display the Top 40 in a long bin of '45s. You could grab the latest from Boston or The Rolling Stones and give it a play. I suppose you can sample a tune on the digital player, but it's not the same. No eagerness.
I'm here with the Thursday prompt.
Day 349: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: running in place
Thank you for helping @mariannewest and for reminiscing about record stores.
