It's against the law to touch your phone in San Antonio, and the first offence gets you a $250 fine. It's ok to talk hands free via Bluetooth, but if the police see your phone in your hand, that's a ticket.

I drive eleven miles a day to Debbie's house, on a road called the Death Loop. About 85% of the drivers, driving with me on the Death Loop, are on their phones. Either texting or with the headset plastered to their ear.

If one police officer was watching for this infraction, he could give out $1000 in traffic fines, every hour. The City of San Antonio could collect $30,000 per month, if only one police officer ticketed four people a day.

This road isn't called the Death Loop because it leads to Sea World people, it can't be that important a call!
