Yesterday my sister's were coming home from Italy and I knew it was going to be a struggle, so I was a mess. They started off in Pisa and headed to London. Ten days ago my niece took the same flight and there was a delay in Pisa and she barely made her connecting flight in London. If it happened again, I knew they would not make it because one sister needed a wheelchair. The message finally came that they were boarding and crossing the pond, so I went to play poker. Around 7:45pm I got word that they cleared customs in Chicago, but their flight wouldn't arrive in San Antonio until 11:50pm. Now I could play poker longer and lose more money. I head to the airport around 10:30pm because I'm in New Braunfels, and it's pouring down rain and getting colder. I get to the airport cell phone lot around 11:30pm, and now it's 50° degrees and I'm in shorts and a t-shirt still pouring. There are about 100 cars waiting in this parking lot and I start seeing delayed flashing on the arrival board. It's now 12:30am and still no word. At 1:10am they landed and at 1:44am they were waiting at the curb for me. As I pull up I see my sister, sitting in a wheelchair, bundled up from head to toe like she was in Alaska, in sub-zero temperatures. I asked her how she fit in the airline seat with all those clothes on and the conversation went down from there. So I got all their luggage loaded and headed to the first sisters house, and dropped her off. They I headed to the next sisters house and heard about the trip and issues, then dropped her off. I finally pulled into my driveway at 3:05am and couldn't fall asleep. Today I'm going to Debbie's early, get the Halloween candy bowl, eat all the red hot jawbreakers that are left, and have a red tongue until Sunday. I ended up winning $15 at poker! 👍
