I haven't had a dog since I was a young teenager and he was a midsized dog. I've always wanted a dachshund because I think they are so cute, but Debbie says that she used to have a few and they always had issues with their backs. When I Google issues with Dachshund's, it seems that they have back problems when they get older. Maybe it's the jumping off the bed or going up and down steps, their tiny legs don't have enough spring in them to absorb the shocks. I don't really think Snickers would like a dog around the house anyway, he seems to like being the master of the home. So for now the only weiner dogs around our house will be laying in the middle of a bun. 🌭

The dachshund has back problems due to the structure of the skeleton, just with age, the connective tissue becomes worse and does not regenerate as well. But many dogs have this problem.
My sister has dachshunds and she loves them. I think the only issue she had was they were difficult to house train. Cute little guys :) Perhaps your dog might be a bit jealous of a newcomer? :)
