I purchased these two beautiful United States gold coins because they were minted in 1910, the year of my father's birth. The $20 Saint Gaudens has one of the most iconic portraits of Lady Liberty, with her flowing dress.
The $10 Indian has a beautiful head dress, full of feathers. These two coins were very popular jewelry pieces, so nobody knows how many survived. I'm just happy that I was able to purchase them and everytime I see them, I think of my father. Sometimes coin collecting is about more than just the investment. 💕

I've been a Collector since before I became a Teenager... I'd search through all the 90% Silver Coins, looking for Walking Liberty Half Dollars or Standing Liberty Quarters, or any Rare Dates I could find, then turn the Left-Overs back into the Bank... Pretty much every Coin I came into contact with, got a Visual Inspection from me... I'd buy Real Silver Dollars at the Bank, looking for Carson City Mint Marks... I spent many Silver Dollars... I'd even gave some away for Trick or Treat... What's funny, is that I always figured they'd be Worth something Some Day... They have never done me one bit of good... Now, I'm into Clad Coinage... Every Clad Coin I can get my hands on... Feel free to visit my Posts, so you can find out why...

Better get ahold of some of those "W" quarters they just released yesterday.

Washington Quarters...??? I'm not sure what you mean, but I can check on what was released yesterday... I couldn't find any W Quarters... I usually get my Clad Coinage for Face Value... Mostly as Change... Thanks...

Wow... W "Mint Marks" to be Released into Circulation...??? That's very unusual...
First time ever. San Antonio got ours yesterday. I need to go to the bank tomorrow.

My dad was born in 1909, but I don't know if I have any coins from that year. I should look and see if I do. I don't have a big collection; just a few odds and ends from here and there.
The 1909 V. D. B. Lincoln Cent is a very popular collectible coin for that year, and is affordable. They didn't make a silver dollar that year.

It’s nice to have things which bring back good memories. Unfortunately, I’ve travelled so much I have very few possessions left other than my computer and clothes. It’s only now I’m getting old that I realise the value of having such things.
It’s the midweek prompt delivery engineers here with the word of the day: https://steemit.com/freewrite/@mariannewest/day-530-5-minute-freewrite-wednesday-prompt-jewel-thieves
Traveling lite is the way to go. Thanks for stopping by with the prompt.

Those are beautiful coins, and how wonderful that you found them graded and in protective 'slab' cases! Fantastic find! 😃
