Today after Mass, I went to a Chinese Buffet restaurant near the church.
Everytime I go to this Buffet, I go cross-eyed by the amount of food I get to pick from.
I never know where to start at these buffets, lemon chicken or sesame chicken, steam shrimp or green beans, I usually start with the foods that won't bring on a gout attack.
Of course, if I'm not planning on doing anything this weekend, I'll start with the shrimps 🍤, and deal with the pain with some good drugs.
I never start with soup, but I always have a bowl. Plus, I stay away from the leafy salads, too damn healthy.
I usually have an egg roll or spring roll but I hit the crab rangoons today, plus some chicken fried rice.
Then I hit the dessert bar, cookies, peanut brittle squares, and sesame balls. Is that a dessert?
This buffet is not finished until you have the obligatory, vanilla or chocolate ice cream. But, is there really any cream in it? 🍦
So finally after two and a half hours, I had to leave my two sisters to finish on their own, and go home to get ready for dinner tonight. 🤭

The wontons/crab Rangoon are the most dangerous for me. I could eat nothing but fried food at the Asian buffet and be very, very happy.
I'm with you, but I tried to be good.
looks amazing! I love the green beans at our chinese food buffet. Sorry gout keeps you from certain foods. I wasn't aware. Mom had gout, too, but I never knew what really triggered it.
Shell fish, red meat, alcohol, everything good... that's why it's called the "Rich Man's Disease" 🤔
ahhh thats interesting to learn. It's a bummer, though!
Oh the days of the all you can eat buffet!
Food allergies leave me looking for the one thing I maybe can eat at one of these spreads....
Lucky the people who can eat anything. My husband, for one. I've finally called a halt to baking, from scratch, his favorite cookies, cakes, breads, and pies. Why torture myself? He'll have to buy the stuff at the store. Sorry, dear, it's still torture to see you enjoy your Oreos while I get... granola.
That suxs, sometimes I wonder if it's worth it. 🤮
