I had to go back a few years to remember this story, but here goes. I was helping a neighbor of mine that was having a garage sale, and it was a slow day. I told her not to waste her time starting a garage sale on a Thursday, but she was insistent. After all, she paid $15 for the garage sale license and she wanted to sell all 3 days.

She was selling the usual baby clothes, tools, and some costume jewelry, when this elderly gentleman walked up to her and said, " I want to buy dis cord", in a thick accent. She didn't understand him and he pointed to a rope on the table, and said, "How mush for dis cord?" She gave him a price and he countered. She took his money and gave him the rope. She stayed open till about 2:00pm that day, then Friday and Saturday were really busy. When the 3 day garage sale was over, she made about $375. She hasn't had one since, it's just too much work.
